Well, this one was pretty special.
Deneka & Jamie were the first couple ever to book their wedding with us. They came to view the house on a dreary winter’s day back in early 2019, when we were about two days into the refurbishment.
The place looked nothing like it does now. There were brown carpets and beige walls in every room, not to mention the bathrooms that looked, well, a little retirement homey.
But, they could see the vision we had for the place and trusted that we’d make it happen. They booked their wedding for July 2020, and then came the global pandemic. They tried to reschedule a couple of times in 2020, but eventually postponed to June 2021.
And it was soooo worth the wait.
We have to admit, we were totes emosh finally watching Deneka descend the Grand Hall staircase.
They were lucky enough to get married on one of the hottest weekends of the year, so they spent most of the day outside at Bojangles Bar, relaxing on deck chairs and playing games on the lawn.
We got to work with some brilliant new suppliers, who we promptly added to our list of recommendations…
Marc Millar captured the day, check out the amazing pics below.
Paul Browlett a.k.a. The Scottish Celebrant conducted the ceremony with a huge amount of style… both his words and his outfit!
Mezzaluna Catering did not one but two meals; a three course Italian meal in the afternoon, followed by some street food served from a gazebo in the evening.
And if that wasn’t enough food for one day, Giacopazzi‘s came along to serve ice cream from their cart in the afternoon, and then dropped off their famous Eyemouth Fish ‘n chips for supper.
Our friends at Occasions Flowers created the beautiful bouquets.
Final massive shout out to Paul & Ciaran, the best friends / bar men / doughnut tower creators a girl & boy could ask for.
Congratulations again Deneka & Jamie, we were so thrilled to finally be part of your incredible day.
