We first met Millie, her mum and best friend at The Wedding Collective Market in February 2020. They’d already booked their ceremony at a church in Eyemouth and asked if we were available for their wedding celebration. We weren’t, and we were gutted as we knew straight away Millie was just our type of bride, so fun and creative. Luckily, they managed to move their ceremony to a new date in September 2020.
But then of course, Covid had other ideas. Millie & Ray had their heart’s set on a big festival style celebration, so in the end they postponed for 18 months to May 2022. And what a party it was.
They invited us to be part of a welcoming circle on the Friday night, which set the lovely warm vibe for the whole weekend.
Millie & Ray had four different music acts perform throughout the day, including reggae, disco and funk & soul sets.
We served up Espresso Martini’s and Old Fashioned’s for the drinks reception, and instead of formal catering they had a massive grazing table filled with lots of lovely dishes made by friends and family. By night, they had the biggest delivery of pizzas we’d ever seen.
The beautiful flowers were supplied by Millpond Flower Farm and arranged by friends of the family.
