Sian and I first met a few years ago when she worked for the charity Street Soccer Scotland and I worked in their digital marketing agency. So it was a lovely surprise to hear from her again when she was looking for her wedding venue.
Sian had also moved on and had set up her own event planning business Strawberry Lemonade Events, so we knew her wedding was going to be a fun one. But there were even more fun and creative ideas than we expected.
They dreamt of having a wedding day filled with fun in the sun, so I convinced Sian to go with the first weekend in June, telling her it’s always incredible weather. And luckily for her (and me), it was a scorcher!
Sian & Mark said their vows in the Grand Hall, before there was a ‘Love Actually’ style performance of “All you need is love” by Geo Gospel Choir, starting from the Gallery above the Grand Hall, before moving down the stairs to the unsuspecting guests (and Groom!).
They then moved outside for the rest of the day, even having their meal of Steak Frites prepared by the brilliant team from Wild Rover Food in a glass roofed marquee. The entertainment continued outside with a live event artist, a ‘Ring for Asti’ wall and a bouncy castle. And the first dance took place on an outdoor dancefloor with the most incredible special effects.
