Netherbyres House | An elegant & quirky wedding venue in the Scottish Borders

For their September wedding Abie & Leona had a vision for a big, fun outdoor party with 100 of their favourite people and pup Cooper. And turns out, they really know how to throw a party!

They’d planned to have an outdoor ceremony followed by a casual BBQ meal in the garden, but with the 2023 Summer not quite behaving itself, they made a last minute decision to book a stretch tent where they had both the ceremony and meal. And while it was threatening to tip down all day, the clouds departed and sun appeared just in time for the beautiful ceremony conducted by one of our faves, Gina Williams.

As the weather cooled off as the sun went down, the guests moved inside to the Grand Hall for the first dance – a very enthusiastic strip the willow!

“We fell in love with Netherbyres when we visited, it was one of a few we’d shortlisted and knew it was the perfect venue. Sarah and Mike were super accommodating, showing us around their lovely place and talking us through a usual wedding day there, while also encouraging us to bring our own creative ideas for the day. For us, being an inclusive venue was also a top priority and there wasn’t a shadow of a doubt that Netherbyers are.

In the run-up Sarah was on hand to answer any questions we had via email, even jumping on a last-minute call to talk to us about capacities and booking a stretch tent.

Our guests partied late into the night and commented on how amazing the venue was, how lovely LeeAnne, Sarah and Mike were and their seriously excellent bar skills. Sarah’s spicy margs and Mike’s negronis are not to be missed. We wish we could do it all over again.”
